Here I am busy learning how to cook Chinese food! My fellow blogger and friend, Ella, documented the whole thing and wrote about it on her blog. Be sure to check it out. She also shares my favorite recipe from the class. I will be sure to make it again (though reducing the salt - Chinese food is SALTY)!
That looks like lots of fun! I am glad to hear that there are cooking classes there as I really want to learn how to cook Chinese food. I asked our guide about cooking classes and I got a strange look from her making me think they don't do that sort of thing there. Here's hoping they offer cooking classes in Tianjin! :-)

There are a few good places to go in Beijing. If there is a good sized expat community in Tianjin, I'm sure you'll find a cooking class. Many people from other parts of China come to Beijing for its cultural offerings and you are not far away, especially with the speed train. You could easily make it a day trip, I'd imagine.
