This is the 20th post in a 31 Day series: Creative Inspiration. Check out all the posts here.
Isn't this an adorable dragonfly made from scrapbook paper?! I found the tutorial for this here. They use tissue paper, but since I wanted to use it for my scrapbook page, I decided to use my scrapbook paper. The problem with scrapbook paper vs. tissue paper is that scrapbook paper is much harder to fold precisely due to his heavier weight.
To solve that problem or at least make it a bit easier, I sprayed my papers with a mist of water. I used a mini mister by Ranger filled with ordinary tap water. I gave each paper 2-3 quick squirts before I started working with it.
Each piece of the dragon fly is made from a 3'x3' piece of paper that I cut out by dividing a 6x6 piece of patterned paper in four equal pieces.
Since my paper wasn't double sided, I had some white areas that I didn't like. To solve this problem, I got out my Prang water colors and filled in those spaces with a little yellow.
Before I put this guy on a page, I want to spruce him up a bit. To see what I do next, keep watching my 31 Days series (Oct 1-31) and I'll show you before its all over!
Tomorrow I discuss PHOTOGRAPHY. What is the best camera for you?
