Welcome to my blog! For any new visitors, on the first of every month I host a blog hop for students in Ali Edwards' One Little Word class over at Big Picture Classes. Please click the links to find out more about the One Little Word concept as well as the class. If you are inspired by what you see on our blogs, it is not too late to sign up.
My word for 2011 is SERENDIPITY.
Quite honestly, I'm not sure it was the best word I could have chosen. It is definitely something I wanted more of in my life this year, but as of now, I don't necessarily feel like my world has been filled with much serendipity. Of course, that could be all in how I have been looking at things, but regardless, I have already been thinking about my word for next year. And I plan to work the accomplishments I hope to acheive with my new word into my life now and see how that may work with serendipity. Because I do believe, on some level, that I chose the perfect word for me right now and hopefully before the year's end, I may decide it fits me just fine.
For my self-portrait this month I chose a yoga pose. Over the past several months I have started doing yoga weekly again. It is something that I love to do and feel so much better physically and mentally when it is part of my weekly routine. I have been fortunate enough to be able to get to the yoga studio two times a week, however over the past two months, I was hardly able to go with my six week trip back to the States as well as my husband's critical illness in early July. But now, life is getting back to normal and yoga is back there too.
This photo represents to me, not just doing yoga every week, but also what yoga brings into my life and that I want to bring more of that to me as the year progresses.

awesome down dog Margie - it's one pose I can't do to save my life...unless being on tippy toes counts! Here's hoping you find more serendipity this year...I love that word!

I think I have a love/hate relationship with my word. Some months I love it and other months I'm not sure its doing much for me!

seems some of ali's comments spoke right to you...of how sometimes our word might not be fitting us at the time.
here's to pushing through. and kudos to you for getting back to yoga and taking care of you.

Your photo is so awesome! I think it speaks volumes about how you are taking care of yourself. Wonderful. One way to look at things, to find little pockets of serendipity perhaps is to ask yourself what was your least favorite thing that day and what was your favorite part of the day? The contrast helps. Maybe it will give you a smile to think of your favorite! xoxo

Great photo Margie. I miss yoga. Funny that I'm also thinking of words for next year too.

We all have our moments with the word don't we?
Love the photo!

Great photo! Sometimes the power of our word isn't always clear. I think getting back to our normal routines help bring things back. I know it's going to help me. Thanks for hosting the blog hop!!

brilliant photo Margie. I did yoga once - oh so many years ago .... perhaps I should give it another go. Thanks as always for keeping me up to date with my word by organising this hop - you really are a sweetheart xx

Love the photo Margie. And yoga too! I do yoga once/week and find such a sense of calm that, lately, has been difficult to find. I believe that before the year's end you will know why your word for this year is serendipity. Thanks for hosting!

Love the photo and I can so relate....I'd been doing yoga regularly for about a month but haven't now for a few weeks. My body...and my mind...are both craving it so badly! Thanks for hosting the hop every month!

What a great photo. I've been wanting to add yoga into my life, but I just haven't squeezed it in yet. I also love all the words you've added.
