31 DAYS OF CREATIVE INSPIRATION

For the last couple of months I have been thinking a lot about this blog. It has evolved away from what I had originally started it for. I wanted to use it to document our unique experiences living here in China. But when I took the password off of it, I couldn't get past privacy issues. I didn't want to share too much or offend anyone by sharing my frustrations being a foreigner in a strange land. So, what it has become is a place to post my photos for my Project 365/Project Life, link up at other blogs and host & participate in blog hops. While those are fun activities, it has left my blog with little soul.

The other thing that has been on my mind is that I haven't created much in a while. I love to make stuff. I want to use my new (to me) sewing machine, whether it be on scrapbook pages or for making a Halloween costume. I was thinking about using October to challenge myself to make something every day (with or without my sewing machine) and then post it on my blog everyday.

My youngest son helps me paint some mini canvases for a project. I love making art with my kids.

In the past I have heard of people using October as a month to post on their blog everyday. I am always intrigued by these types of challenges, so I was going to challenge myself, on my own, to do that once I came up with a theme, whether it included making stuff or just reporting more on our daily lives.

Then a few days ago, I found out about the 31 Days series through Jessica at The Mom Creative where I link up almost every Tuesday for Project Life Tuesday. It got me really thinking about a theme that I could do for 31 Days. I wanted something that was true to me, yet realistic enough that I could do for 31 Days. I fear failure, so it had to be something that could include very simple posts or more involved ones if my time allowed. I also wanted to be able to create stuff since that is what I have been missing. So, I have come up with a theme!

31 DAYS OF CREATIVE INSPIRATION

I plan to inspire you with photography (specifically 'everyday photojournalism' & travel), cake and cupcake decorating, crafts, favorite recipes and personal stories all meant to inspire you!

In a nutshell the month of October will see a huge increase in the amount of soul on this blog!

I am very excited about this challenge and can't wait to get started. I hope you'll check back in often.
