Braden's school is having a 3 day bake sale to raise money to help the victims in Japan. Not only have we been busily making and decorating cupcakes over the past two days, but we stopped by the sale on the way out of school to indulge in a few treats. Here Braden poses by the sign.
Last night I made big ladybugs (ladybirds), grass with ladybugs & monkeys. I chose these because they are cute and not too difficult to make. And I could make them with things I had around the house.
A close-up of one of the monkeys. He is made out of one medium sized cookie with the top 1/4 cut off, one small cookie/biscuit/cracker with the two sides cut off and used for the ears, two chocolate chips for eyes, black decorating gel for the nostrils and red icing for the mouth.
Here is a close up of the ladybugs on the grass. They are simply red M&Ms decorated with chocolate frosting. I put the frosting in a ziploc sandwich bag and cut a very small hole in the corder and just drew on the details. So simple! The larger ladybugs' details are made with chocolate frosting but the hole in the sandwich bag is a little larger to get a thicker line down the middle of the back as well as the nice plump spots on the back.
Those are the cutest cupcakes EVER. Can't believe you took the time to make those little ladybugs with frosting. Nice touch!
