First the update. I have been off line for several days because my internet has either been very, very, very slow or it has blocked all blogs, facebook and other sensitive sites as decided by the Chinese government, therefore I have not been posting regularly.
To get back on track, I will post my week in photos a little late. I usually try to get it on the blog by Tuesday at the latest. Here it is Wednesday in my part of the world and I am just getting it up - but better late than never!
Sunday, March 6
Nicholas was telling me a story. I love his expression.
Monday, March 7 Reece's latest read. He goes through books so fast, I cannot keep up with his latest fascinations. I think he borrowed this one from his teacher's library at school.
Tuesday, March 8 This was the scene at my portraiture class - studying studio lighting.
Wednesday, March 9 This photo didn't translate well once it was online. just a silly photo any way. These are the OPI nail polish colors I brought with me from the States to use in between pedicures. But as it turns out I never use it. I am just not a prissy girl. I only get manicures and pedicures when I have a friend to go with otherwise I get bored! I can't be bothered touching up my nails. They just chip off until I find the time and a friend to get back to the manicure place. (By the way, I only put the red on my toes. Clear is for my hands.)
Friday, March 10 Nicholas was circling his choices for Scholastic book orders. I love that we can get these even here in Japan. One less thing I have to miss by being here. This was one of my favorite and happy memories from my school time - ordering books!
Saturday, March 11 So, so, so incredibly saddened by the images and news on TV about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. I feel as though Japan is my second home. I lived and worked there for 2 and a half+ years. I still have very good and close friends who live there. Thankfully, none of my friends were affected, but it still is devastating to watch. I love that country. The people are simply beautiful and the country is beautiful too. We went back in October of 2008 and it was so comfortable to be back. It was truly like going home. My heart aches for everyone there who is suffering. I hope things start getting better fast. Who can take much more suffering and devastation. Please keep them in your prayers.
I just found out from my friend's website that tomorrow (Friday, March 18) is a silent day for bloggers in honor of the people in Japan. Please go to gogovivi.com for more information and give what you can to help our friends and fellow world citizens in Japan.
Welcome back! Feeling the pain of Japan all the way over here in Canada.
