I have been deepening my knowledge of Photoshop so that I can maximize the potential of my photos. Although I had a couple of hours of tutoring at Beijing Center of Photography as well as other practice when digital scrapbooking, there is still so much I can't remember and so much I have to learn. Therefore, I'm thinking it is time to invest in a Photoshop Book for digital photographers. Scott Kelby is an author I've heard over and over again.
I found a sample of the Kindle version of his latest Photoshop Book on Amazon.com and noticed many beautiful photos he had of Beijing. And since I am on a photo taking rampage around Beijing these days I figured I should see if I can't find more of his images on line for a little inspiration. Click on the link above to see what I found.
I use Photoshop Elements 8 and LR3. I have the Kelby PSE8 book and it is really helpful; it is task-oriented rather than a walk-through of all the features. I started using PSE five years ago with his PSE5 book and still think they're the best around. I subscribed, briefly, to Kelby training, but found that with the spotty Internet here, the videos didn't load fast enough. Eventually I subscribed to Lynda.com and have been learning LR3 there. They also have PS/PSE videos. Lastly, I just took a free PS/PSE class at http://www.kimklassencafe.com/elements-skinny-mini-ecourse/ that was really good and worthwhile. The last free course just started and I think you can still sign up! Whew!

Thanks, Kiley. I'm going to sign up at kimklassencafe.com. As she says on her site, I've got nothing to lose since it is free.
