The school where our two older boys go had their big performance last night. The newly formed parent group hosted the first ever bake sale. I volunteered to decorate some cupcakes. Since Chinese New Year is fast approaching and the performance was in honor of Spring Festival and the Lunar New Year coming up on the 14th of February, I thought it would be appropriate to make red tigers. Red since that is the Chinese color for celebration and a tiger because the new year is the Year of the Tiger on the Chinese Zodiac.
As promised a few posts earlier, here are my tigers:
And a photo of the rest of the lair:
I got the main idea from a blog after searching the web. Go here to get to the link for the original blog. She has a lot of other cute cupcakes to see.
They were a big hit at the bake sale, but that's no surprise when they were the only goodies with green eyes & a cute smile, not to mention candies and sugar cereal to boot!
If there is a spare moment later today, I will try and post some highlights from the performance - the kids were adorable. And maybe a layout for the Scrap Weekly challenge. But don't hold me to any of it, with a plane to catch, I might be expecting too much from myself...
