My husband and I have been watching too many episodes of The Wire. The tell tale sign is the title of the latest layout I made, 'Fun in 'Da Hood'. There's very little English television to watch in Beijing and very little reason to go outside with the freezing cold temps and nasty wind, so we need something to do at home. Luckily, there are lots of good TV shows and movies available on DVD!
While watching tonight's episode I threw together this layout using the Week #2 Sketch from the six-week challenge going on over at the Ella Publishing blog. I also used the color scheme from the Tickle Monster challenge over at Big Picture Scrapbooking. Nothing like killing two birds with one stone and having fun while doing it!
Supplies: Cardstock (Bazzill), Patterned Paper (Adornit & Colorbok), Letter Stickers (American Crafts), Chipboard Letter (Heidi Swapp), Stamp (Inkadinkado), Ink (Stampin' Up), Journaling Pen (American Crafts), Ribbon (Joann), Corner Rounder (EK Success)
Journaling: Watching you boys have fun together playing made-up games & doing things for each other is one of my greatest joys as a mom. This day we walked to Souplantation for brunch. And you had a blast!
FAVORITE PHOTOS
Here's another page I did a few weeks ago. My husband and I went through most of our favorite photos of the year and narrowed them down to 25. It's an imperfect process since I know we've missed a few, but it's kind of cool anyway. They aren't all my favorites nor all his favorites but a true combination of OUR favorites. I love the idea of selecting favorite photos from any specific period of time however I don't do it nearly as often as I'd like.
Supplies: Cardstock (Bazzill), Patterned Paper (My Mind's Eye), Journaling Card (Prima), Trim (Basic Grey), Foam Stamp (Heidi Swapp), Ink (Stampin' Up), Felt Letter Stickers (American Crafts), Journaling Pen (American Crafts)
With my youngest child now five years old I'm feeling very nostalgic so I am going through old pictures of him and putting together a few pictures over the years to show his growth. Eventually I hope to make a scrapbook page, but in the meantime I think I just might post them here. There is something powerful about seeing those photos from different time periods all in one place.
Time flies when you're having fun!
I like the layout for the Ella challenge. I love rounded corners. The 25 page is great. I may just scraplift that one. Thank you.

What great LOs, especially the 25 photo page! Congrats on getting the Ella sketch and the BPS Tickle Monster contests done with one project! Good luck with both! :)

Wow, I am loving these layouts! I always love seeing layouts that fit a lot of photos since I have sooo many to scrap!

I love both of these layouts too. And I agree the rounded corners are a great touch. :)
