Happy Pi Day! For those of you that don't know what Pi Day is, it seems to be a relatively new phenomenon (at least in our part of the world) in our schools to take some time to celebrate & have fun with MATH! As most of us hopefully know, Pi=3.14. Today is March (3rd month) 14th, thus 3.14, thus Pi Day.
Our elementary school celebrated with fun math games and activities in the cafeteria. Students who are trying hard and/or know what Pi equals receive raffle tickets, raffle tickets are used to enter the raffle to win pies donated by the parents.
In middle school, the math class had a Pi Day party. Children could bring in circular treats that they woule measure before consuming.
These cupcakes were our contribution.
