It is still early in the year and as I reflect on what I want to create for myself this year & where I want to go, I have come up with three words that speak to me. I call them MY INTENTIONS for 2013.
THREE WORDS
GRATITUDE is my One Little Word and if you have been reading my blog so far this year, you know that it is already helping me a lot. The other two words that I have chosen to guide me are:
THRIVE
&
EXPERIMENT
Let me explain.
THRIVE - Presently I am at a transition period in my life. It is taking far longer than I anticipated or hoped. I was waiting until this transition happened before I really began my life again. Well, that was really bringing me down, so now I have decided I will THRIVE while I wait. No sense in wasting my life in the interim.
EXPERIMENT - I tend to give up on ideas before I even attempt them. I have a way of talking myself out of every big, grand idea for myself. I am sure there are all sorts of reasons, but the bottomline is I give up before I begin. And as the saying goes, There is no way to succeed if you don't even try. Or something like that. I know that is totally wrong, but you get the idea. (If you know which quote I am talking about, please share in the comments.)
I think if I tell myself that I am just "EXPERIMENTING" there will be no pressure to succeed, so it will be OK to fail. EXPERIMENTING also makes it OK to change my mind. If I take the dive, and I end up hating my choice, I can always stop & do something different.

HAPPINESS
I found these questions today when I impulsively decided to sign up for an online challenge here. I thought they went right along with my intentions for the year:
1) What makes you happy? being present with my family, having no expectations, creating, accomplishing, exercise, yoga, eating well, writing, surrounding myself with inspirational messages and content (i.e., positive magazines, books, other media [TV, blogs, articles, etc.].
2) What are you passionate about? my children, helping children less fortunate, crafting, memory keeping, sewing, cooking, baking, party planning, cake/cupcake decorating, traveling, photography
3) How can you bring more of that into your life? setting intentions & goals, making to do lists, rewarding myself for meeting goals and milestones
How about you? Have you set any goals or intentions for the New Year?
